While stress does mean that you care a lot that something gets done, it can be very harmful in excess. A healthy amount of stress can motivate you to do something while too much stress can give you serious anxiety about something you have to do. Things that cause you stress can start to occupy all your thoughts and make you wish it won't happen instead of motivating you to get it done.
For example, I tend to get very stressed about speeches I have to make in my argumentation class. To lower the stress and fear of public speaking, I prepare as much of the speeches as possible and take lots of notes on my opponent's speeches. Having some sort of layout to my speech really helps me be more confident when I have to talk.
I found something that worked for me, so if you're very stressed about something, start testing different things you can do to reduce the stress. Taking a step back and relaxing can keep you from becoming a stress monster whose every waking thought is occupied by an approaching deadline, so reducing stress in whatever ways you can is always good.
